Meeting time, place and
directions: 10:00am at the Junction
of Hwy 76 West and Persimmon Road, 6 miles from the intersection of Hwy 441 and
Hwy 76 in downtown Clayton, GA. Follow signs for Persimmon Creek Winery. Parking
area on right just as you turn onto Persimmon Creek Road.

Outing location:
Rabun County, NE Georgia and Clay County, NC in the
Chattahoochee and Nanthahala Forests.
Distance & Difficulty: 8 mile loop - Strenuous hike with a 2,600 ft gain in
the first 2 1/2 miles.
Bring: Lunch, water, rain gear,
walking staff if needed, and appropriate clothing and footwear. Camera if
desired. (Allergic to bees/wasps? Remember your meds/epi-pen.) Dress in warm layers and bring plenty of nourishment for this 4-hour winter hike!
