The drive in is about an hour on Forest Service dirt roads and we will stop at Nimblewill Gap to view North Georgia’s largest native Chestnut tree. This is a really a special and rare opportunity to experience old growth cove forest. Most of our old growth findings have been dryer, Chestnut Oak ridge forest communities. We’ll visit some huge Poplar, Hemlock, Oak and White Pine cove forests. This is one of the more easily accessible old growth areas we have found. Plan on being out most of the day.
