Working for you, working for the forest
Four employees are based out of our office near historic Ellijay, Georgia. They administer our programs and are the point of contact for the general public. You are welcome to stop in and buy a t-shirt, process your membership, or just say hello.
Georgia ForestWatch Staff
Wayne Jenkins, Executive Director
Wayne is the perfect balance of visionary and shepherd needed to administer Georgia ForestWatch programming and inspire action. He is beloved and respected by the staff, board, district leaders, members and the larger conservation community. He has been associated with Georgia ForestWatch for much of its 20 year history, having been an early activist volunteer, district leader, and eventual board member.
Jill Gottesman, Outreach Director
Jill brings an unmatched attention to detail and the skills of a diverse work history in nonprofit management, environmental education, wilderness therapy and social work. She loves wilderness backpacking, volunteers at a local organic farm, and is committed to the preservation of ancestral skills and knowledge through involvement with the Earthskills Rendezvous.
Lisa Gagnon, Office Manager
For years, Lisa has been attempting to incorporate environmental activism into her work, and at ForestWatch, she is finally able to do so. To the position of office manager, she brings a mixed bag of experience, having worked as a professional writer, technology consultant, stone mason, and martial arts instructor in the past.
Darren Wolfgang, Forest Ecologist
From Pennsylvania, Darren holds a degree in forestry with additional training in fisheries management. He may be a "yankee" but rumor has it he's got a terrible weakness for southern pit BBQ! His interests include fishing, camping, archery, gardening, cooking, history and politics. Thanks to Darren's collaborative work, ForestWatch is building better relationships with Forest Service personnel.
